North Korean freighter disappears off Horn of Africa 

8 dead as ship runs aground off Quezon Province, Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Eight people were killed after a 400-ton cargo ship tilted on its side and ran aground off Quezon province on Thursday, officials of the Philippine Coast Guard and Office of Civil Defense said.

Rescuers have recovered 126 survivors from the ill-fated MV Blue Water Princess although the passenger manifest listed only 28 passengers and crew, said Vicente Tomasar, OCD director for Southern Luzon.
